Introduction: The future of a nation depends on the success of toddlers in achieving their growth and development, the growth and development of toddlers at the age of 1-5 years old is also called the golden age because at this stage there is a very large developmental spike, toddler development certainly cannot be separated from the role of parents or guardians caregiver because one of the factors that can affect development is the nurturing environment, proper care will have a good impact so that toddlers can achieve optimal growth and development.
Methods: This type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional research design, the sampling technique is a random sampling of as many as 93 respondents, the research instrument uses a parenting style questionnaire containing 18 statements using a Likert scale and a developmental pre-screening questionnaire containing 9-10 question.
Results: The test statistics test used is chi-square, the result of the study state that there is a relationship between parenting patterns and the development of toddlers seen from p-value = 0,001 or less than 0,005 meaning H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted.
Discussion: There is a relationship between parenting patterns with the development of toddlers aged 1-5 years old.
