Relationship of Knowledge, History of Exclusive Breastfeeding, and Completeness of Basic Immunization to the Nutritional Status of Infants

Abstract

Introduction: Based on data from monthly weighing results, for the July-August 2022 period, there were 197 babies aged 6-12 months in Pagelaran Village. Of the 197 babies, there were 15 babies who had poor nutritional status in terms of age and weight. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge, history of exclusive breastfeeding, and completeness of basic immunization on the nutritional status of infants.

Methods: This study uses a quantitative research method with a descriptive correlation research type. The number of samples in this study was 66 people with the accidental sampling technique. The instrument has been tested for validity and reliability using a questionnaire instrument. The analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis.

Results: The results showed that most of the respondents, namely 34 people (51,5%) had less knowledge, most of the respondents, namely 35 people (53,0%) did not give exclusive breastfeeding, most of the respondents, namely 34 people (51,5%) did complete immunization, the majority of respondents, 34 people (51,5%) experienced malnutrition status. There is a significant relationship between a mother's knowledge, exclusive breastfeeding, and history of immunization with nutritional status

Discussion: It is hoped that the baby's mother can increase her knowledge and complete immunization so that the baby's nutritional status can become good nutritional status.
