Introduction: Health problems in society are a major concern in developing countries, including Indonesia. One of the health problems in Indonesia is diarrhea which is the main cause of death after respiratory tract infections. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), in 2021 diarrhea is the second main disease that causes death in children under five and causes 525,000 children under five to die every year. This study aimed to determine the relationship between environmental sanitation, exclusive breastfeeding, and maternal knowledge with the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers 1-5 years old at the UPTD Community Health Center X
Methods: This type of research was quantitative, with the research design used being analytical descriptive with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique uses the total population. The location this research was conducted at the UPTD Community Health Center X. The total population number is 100.
Result: From this research, the results showed that there was a relationship between environmental sanitation and the incidence of diarrhea with a p-value = 0,014. There is a relationship between breastfeeding and the incidence of diarrhea with a p-value of 0,017. There is a relationship between maternal knowledge and the incidence of diarrhea with a p-value of 0,028 in toddlers 1-5 years old at the UPTD Community Health Center X. Maternal knowledge is a variable with a very large relationship, where if the mother's knowledge is sufficient, the risk can be 0,376 times diarrhea occurs in toddlers aged 1-5 years.
Conclusion: It is hoped that mothers can pay attention to providing clean water sources, at least for the water they consume daily, using water that is clean and cooked well before consuming it.
