Abstract

Introduction: Based on the data from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2016 pregnant women who suffer from CED as many as 629 mothers (73,2%) of all maternal deaths and have a risk of death 20 times greater than mothers with normal LILA at the Sindangbarang Health Center there are KEK numbers (chronic malnutrition) in 2022 the number of KEK (chronic malnutrition) there are 52 data on pregnant women from January to August. This study aimed to determine the relationship between knowledge, nutritional patterns, and health education with the incidence of chronic energy deficiency in the working area of the Sindangbarang Health Center in 2023.

 Methods: This research method is quantitative with a cross-sectional study design total population of 50 pregnant women with a total sampling sample.

 Results: The results of the univariate statistical test showed that 36 (72%) had poor knowledge 30 (60%) had poor nutritional patterns, and 29 (58%) had poor health education. The results of the bivariate analysis found that the p-values of all research variables were p-value < α knowledge (0,000) nutritional patterns (0,000) and health education (0,000) meaning that H0 was rejected or there was a significant relationship between knowledge, dietary patterns and health education on the incidence of CED in pregnant women.

 Discussion: The study concludes that knowledge, nutritional patterns, and health education are related to the incidence of chronic energy deficiency in pregnant women. Suggestions from this study are that it can be used as a reference for health agencies can increase knowledge for pregnant women, and become a guide for further research.
