Abstract

Introduction: The high prevalence of anemia in Women of Reproductive Age (especially brides-to-be) is generally due to a lack of knowledge about anemia, iron deficiency, folic acid, vitamin B12 and vitamin A. Symptoms and dangers of anemia in pre-marital women may cause fatigue, decreased physical capacity, weakness and decreased productivity which will worsen if the bride-to-be becomes pregnant.

Methods: Employed a case study approach. The research sample consisted of 2 pre-marital women with low Hb Levels, 1 pre-marital woman was given soy milk and 1 pre-marital woman was given green bean extract.

Results: The initial examination showed respondent 1 had an Hb of 10,6 gr/dl and respondent 2 had 11 gr/dl. After 7 days of consuming chicken eggs, respondent 1's Hb increased to 12,1 gr/dl and after 7 days of consuming chicken liver, respondent 2's Hb increased to 12,3 gr/dl.

Discussion:  Hb levels in pre-marital women with anemia consuming soy milk showed a faster increase compared to pre-marital women with anemia consuming green bean extract.
