The Effect of Lemon Aroma Therapy and Ginger Drinks on Pregnant Women in the First Period with Emesis Gravidarum at PMB M

Introduction: Emesis is one of the discomforts experienced by pregnant women in the first trimester, which occurs in almost 50% of pregnant women. Pregnant women usually experience nausea and vomiting in the morning. To provide midwifery care and to determine the effect of lemon aromatherapy and ginger drink on first trimester pregnant women with emesis gravidarum at PMB M in 2024.
Methods: A Case study approach to the research sample was first trimester pregnant women experiencing emesis gravidarum. In this study, there was 2 samples, where 1 sample used lemon aromatherapy intervention and 1 sample used Ginger Water Boiled
Results: Faster decrease in vomiting frequency in respondents given lemon aromatherapy intervention compared to ginger water, but both were effective in treating nausea and vomiting in first trimester pregnant women with mild emesis gravidarum.
Discussion: Emesis gravidarum in first trimester pregnant women given lemon aromatherapy intervention, the complaints were more reduced, which was 4 times a day to 1 time a day, compared to the intervention of ginger water, which was from 5 times a day to 3 times a day.
