Introduction: Type 2 diabetes requires sustained self-management, yet limited knowledge and confidence may reduce daily functioning and quality of life. Objective: To determine the effect of structured diabetes education on quality of life among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: A quasi-experimental pretest-posttest study with a control group involved 72 patients, with 36 participants in each group. The intervention group attended four weekly education sessions covering disease understanding, medication, diet, physical activity, glucose monitoring, and problem solving. Quality of life was measured using the WHOQOL-BREF. Independent t tests and analysis of covariance were applied. Results: Baseline quality-of-life scores were comparable between groups (57.8 vs 58.2; p=0.843). After four weeks, the intervention group increased to 68.4, while the control group reached 60.5. The mean difference in change was 8.3 points (95% CI 4.4-12.2; p<0.001; Cohen's d=1.07). The adjusted intervention effect remained significant (beta=7.68; p<0.001). Conclusion: Structured diabetes education produced a meaningful short-term improvement in quality of life and should be integrated into continuing diabetes care.
