Abstract

Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) is a cardiovascular disorder associated with high morbidity and mortality rates and requires prompt treatment to prevent clinical deterioration. Response time in emergency services is an important indicator of healthcare quality and may affect the speed of intervention in CHF patients. This study aimed to analyze the effect of response time on the speed of patient management among individuals with CHF in the emergency department. A quantitative study with a retrospective cohort approach was conducted involving 98 CHF patients treated in the emergency department. Data were collected from medical records using observation sheets. Statistical analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test and logistic regression with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that patients receiving a response time of ≤5 minutes were more likely to receive rapid treatment than patients with a response time >5 minutes. Statistical analysis revealed a significant effect of response time on treatment speed (p=0.001). Rapid response time contributes to timely intervention and improved emergency care outcomes in CHF patients.
