Abstract

Introduction: Discharge planning is an important component of patient safety during the transition from hospital to home. Supervision is needed to ensure that discharge planning is implemented according to established standards. This study aimed to analyze the effect of discharge planning supervision on patient safety at Hospital X. A quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group approach was used. Participants were nurses involved in discharge planning, and data were collected using observation sheets. The results showed an increase in patient safety scores following the implementation of discharge planning supervision compared with the pre-intervention condition. Structured supervision may improve nurses' adherence to patient education, communication, documentation, and follow-up procedures. Structured discharge planning supervision should be integrated into hospital quality improvement and patient safety programs.
