Introduction: Acute respiratory infections (ARI) and diarrhea are common health problems affecting children under five years old and remain major causes of morbidity. Mothers play an important role in early recognition, prevention, and home management of these illnesses. Lack of knowledge regarding appropriate management may lead to delayed treatment and increased risk of complications. Complementary therapies such as cajuput oil aromatherapy and honey may support symptom management when applied appropriately. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of health education regarding ARI and diarrhea management using complementary therapy (cajuput oil aromatherapy and honey) in improving mothers’ knowledge of toddler care. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test approach conducted in 2023. The sample consisted of 60 mothers with toddlers selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using a knowledge questionnaire before and after health education intervention. Data were analyzed using paired t-test. Results: The average knowledge score increased from 58.6 ± 10.4 before education to 84.2 ± 8.7 after education. Statistical analysis showed a significant difference in mothers’ knowledge before and after health education intervention (p=0.000). Conclusion: Health education regarding ARI and diarrhea management using complementary therapy approaches such as cajuput oil aromatherapy and honey is effective in improving mothers’ knowledge. Continuous health education programs are needed to strengthen mothers’ ability in toddler care.
