Abstract

Introduction: Mass communication is the process of communication conducted through mass media. The Halo Dokter program is centered around health for children, teenagers, and adults. This program discusses healthy lifestyles, health information, emergency management of diseases, recognizing disease symptoms, and treatment.

Methods: This research is a qualitative study with a descriptive approach, and the nature of the research is case study research. The sources of information used in this study are purposive sampling techniques, and data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and document analysis.

Results: The Halo Dokter program is a variety show that features discussions on various health topics in each segment. It has been airing since 2013 and continues to be popular among viewers, providing health information in the mornings. With effective pre-production and post-production strategies, the Halo Dokter program consistently delivers high-quality content and receives positive ratings in every broadcast. Its popularity has been acknowledged by the KPI (Indonesian Broadcasting Commission) in terms of program quality, as it has been in high demand by viewers every day since 2013.

Discussion: The conclusion drawn from the research is that the Halo Dokter program is a variety show format that provides health information in each segment. It requires effective strategies in the pre-production, production, and post-production phases to produce high-quality programs that contribute to public knowledge about health.
