Abstract

Introduction: LED Videotrons in Depok have now become one of the most popular advertising media among the public. Therefore, the Depok City Government is attempting to display public service advertisements to provide information to the public using the AIDA Model (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action) to assess the effectiveness of videotrons in attracting attention, generating interest, building desire, and encouraging action among the public. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the use of videotrons for public service advertisements by the Public Relations Division of the Depok City Government in an effort to meet the information needs of the community at Depok Open Space (DOS).

Methods: Descriptive research type with qualitative research design. The data collection technique used in this research was interviews. Data analysis with data reduction, data presentation and verification (Verification).

Results: Based on the research results, it is known from interviews with informants that access to use Videotron is appropriate and is located in a strategic location in the Depok City Center, Jalan Margonda. However, the public's response was that it was because they were in a fast lane position and did not focus on looking at the Videotron when it was running. The Depok City Government is fully responsible for providing public service advertising programs and does not charge any fees for services on Videotron. Information on public service advertisements is in accordance with the phenomenon in society and according to the community, information on public service advertisements via videotron can increase knowledge.

Discussion: Conduct an evaluation regarding the location of the Videotron to be placed at a traffic light and be more creative in making public service advertisements so that the public can easily digest the contents of the advertisement.
