Factors Influencing the Success of Dental Abscess Treatment

Abstract

Introduction: Dental abscess is a localized suppurative process, an abscess is an infection whose main picture is the formation of pus, an abscess is a collection of pus located in a pocket caused by a bacterial, parasitic, or other foreign object infection process. An abscess is a defense reaction of the body that aims to prevent the infection from spreading to other parts of the body.

Methods: The purpose of this study was to use Analytical Observation with an approach design to determine the effect on the success factors of dental abscess treatment. This study uses quantitative research methods using Cross-Sectional Analytical, with Chi-Square data analysis techniques and logistic regression where sampling uses data from the patient's medical record randomly as many as 100 samples with patients recovering or not recovering.

Results: The results of this study are the factors that influence the treatment of abscesses by providing anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs at the Slipi II Village Health Center in 2019.

Discussion: The many factors that occur for the patient's healing to treat abscesses on teeth, are the administration of drugs and the operator. or the doctor himself in treating the patient. In some diagnoses, drugs and the operator who performs them are also very influential in the patient's healing factor in the treatment of dental abscesses.
