Effect of Soursop Leaf Decoction on Blood Pressure Reduction in Hypertensive Elderly at Karang Tengah Health Center

Introduction: The value of blood pressure with increasing age, the higher. The cause shows that the blood vessels do harden (stiff) as person ages. This is what causes the heart to pump stronger and eventually leads to hypertension in the elderly. Soursop leaves have potassium compounds that help in lowering blood pressure. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of soursop leaf decoction. To reduce pressure in the elderly 60-74 years in hypertensive patients in the Karang Tengah Health Center in 2021.
Methods: The design of this study used a quasi-experimental one-group post-test design sample paired sample t-test. The population in this study was all elderly as many as 210 elderly. The sample of this study was 15 people with a sampling technique using simple random.
Results: The research procedure was giving soursop leaf decoction with observation sheets and blood pressure measurements or a sphygmomanometer. Data processing editing, coding, data entry, and processing of data analysis using the paired-sample t-test, the results obtained a p-value of 0,000 < 0,05 so that the HA was accepted which means that there is an effect of giving soursop leaf stew on reducing blood pressure in the elderly in the Karang Tengah Health Center in 2021.
Discussion: the conclusion that there are effects soursop leaves booking on blood pressure reduction in elderly in the region of Karang Tengah Health Center in 2021.
