Abstract

Introduction: Childbirth is a process that is very prone to complications that can endanger the mother and baby, and is one of the causes of maternal death. Childbirth is the process of removing the products of conception in the form of the fetus and placenta from the uterus through the birth canal. Postpartum complications can occur, such as perineal rupture. Perineal rupture is a laceration or wound that occurs along the birth canal (perineum) due to the delivery process. Perineal rupture can occur intentionally (episiotomy) or accidentally.

Methods: This study used the method of observation/analytical survey, and uses a cross-sectional approach. The samples taken in this study were all mothers giving birth in the VK room at Pagelaran Hospital who met the requirements of 38 people.

Results: Data analysis used bivariate analysis, from the results of the chi-square test, a p-value < 0,05 was obtained, so H0 was rejected, which means that there is a relationship between the baby's head circumference, birth spacing, and how to push with perineal rupture in mothers giving birth in the VK room at Pagelaran Hospital in 2022.

Discussion: To find out the relationship between the baby's head circumference, birth spacing, and how to push with perineal rupture in birthing mothers in the VK room at Pagelaran Hospital in 2022.
