Abstract

Introduction: Eye fatigue is a subjective condition caused by excessive use of eye muscles. World Health Organization WHO data) in 2014 the incidence of eye fatigue ranged from 40%-90%. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between monitor viewing distance, duration of computer use, light intensity, work period and eye rest with eye fatigue in employees of advanced Indonesian health sciences and communication sciences colleges in 2020.

Methods: The method used in this research is a cross-sectional research design quantitative research. The procedure for selecting respondents uses purposive sampling with a sample size of 92 employees.

Results: Analysis techniques using univariate and bivariate techniques. In this study, the results obtained were that there was a relationship between monitor screen distance (p-value = 0,040 and OR = 2,904); lighting (p-value = 0,036 and OR = 3,000); duration of computer use (p-value = 0,005 and OR = 4,167) length of work (p-value = 0,017 and OR = 3,417); eye rest (p-value = 0,001 and OR = 5,344); with the incidence of eye fatigue in employees of advanced Indonesian health sciences colleges and communications colleges.

Discussion: The conclusion there is a relationship between brushing habits, knowledge and the role of health to dental caries. It is recommended to increase the role of health workers to increase their knowledge and application creating good and correct brushing habits to reduce the incidence of dental caries.
