Abstract

Introduction: Work stress is a condition when an individual experiences pressure or tension in their work and work environment so that the individual responds negatively and feels burdened in completing their obligations. Triggers for work stress can come from several problems in the workplace such as excessive work demands and lack of rest for workers so that it ultimately has an impact on the physical, psychological and behavioral aspects of the worker.

 

Methods: This research design is an analytical study with a cross-sectional study. Based on the data on the number of employee & worker populations in each division of 300 people. The error tolerance in this study uses 5% (0.05). The object of this study uses the Slovin formula calculation, it is obtained that researchers need 279.66 samples, and will be rounded up to 280 respondents.

 

Results: From this study, it was found that the showed that age had a significant effect on role conflict, quantitative overload, career development, and responsibility towards others, but did not affect role ambiguity and qualitative overload. Meanwhile, gender only affected qualitative overload and responsibility towards others, but did not affect other aspects. For example, length of service affected quantitative overload, qualitative overload, and career development, but did not affect role ambiguity, role conflict, and responsibility towards others.

 

Conclusion: To create a healthy and harmonious work environment, companies can clarify the tasks of each individual, improve training skills, and provide family visit programs to the industry so that employees can relieve their longing for their families. Balanced rewards with sanctions will make them feel appreciated, while regular psychosocial interviews help maintain mental well-being.
